So after 20 something years I finally got the Special Duties LP '77 in 82'. Back when I was a nipper they were the anti-punk to bands like Conflict and Crass that I loved at the time. I grew up in the arse end of the arse end of nowhere - Camborne, Cornwall... 2hours to the nearest city (which at age 14 may as well have been the fucking moon). We sat around thinking the revolution was coming....'it can, it will....it is.... happening'. Anyway, Special Duties made the Exploied look like college professors... anti CND songs and the anthem 'Bullshit Crass'. I have quite a softspot for them now.....
