We love Sleater Kinney....always have. At last, Corin Tucker ex of that band has brought out a new LP on Kill Rock Stars... and it kills.

Folk Novice

Another thing I don't know a lick about: folk music. I've read White Bicycles and bought some Leadbelly/Guthrie/Dylan and my cousin works with that Banhart (sp?) fella in LA. Mostly, I'm surprised by what gets classified as folk. But since it was brought up a couple post back, I do think Kristian Matsson is an interesting signer and I suppose he's probably belting out folk.

A couple of years back some of the B&M crew saw Alasdair Roberts in a small bar in SF. It was epic. The Scotsman plays traditional Scots folk and was mesmerizing.

RIP Mark Sheehan

another fallen. Mark Sheehan, singer of Our Cold died this week age 41. Our Cold were one of the few band who continued playing straight up hardcore when it wasn't fashionable. They killed it throughout. A legend.

Captain Beyond

Underrated 70's hard rock band....shit is pretty loose. Featuring the OG vocalist of Deep Purple Rod Evans and half of Iron Butterfly...... riffage....
